Vittorio Gassman , conocido popularmente como Il Mattatore, actor y director italiano de teatro y cine. Gassman está considerado entre los mejores actores italianos y reconocido como un intérprete extaordinariamene profesional, versátil y magnético. Su larga carrera incluyó desde importantes producciones hasta obras menores, casi divertimentos, que le proporcionaron una enorme popularidad.
Vittorio Gassman was an Italian theatre and film actor and director.
He is considered one of the greatest Italian actors and is commonly recalled as an extremely professional, versatile, magnetic interpreter, whose long career includes both important productions as well as dozens of divertissements (which made him greatly popular).
Vittorio Gassman studied theatre in his youth and was quite a good basketball player. He debuted on stage in 1943 and soon felt home in all classical theatre works.
Since 1946 he also worked at the movies and his first big role there was the criminal in Arroz amargo (1949). This fixed him to his main parts: The ambigous gentleman inflicting pain and pleasure at the same time. He also participated in the Italian comedies and in American movies.
